"Rachel Carson and Nature's Treasure"
Museum educator Vivienne Shaffer uses readings, writing activities and word games to help explain the scientific work of Rachel Carson. Shaffer became interested in the relationship between childhood experience and lifetime achievement while working in historic houses, including Carson's childhood home. She blends this interest with her expertise in designing recreational learning experiences and planning interdisciplinary curricula.
