"Saint Georges, The Black Mozart" with Charles Pettaway

Charles Pettaway is an Associate Professor of Piano at Lincoln University and an award-winning pianist. In this episode, Pettaway performs and presents the life and music of an 18th century superstar, Joseph Boulogna Chevalier de Saint-Georges. An archetypal romantic hero, Saint-George was spectacularly gifted, but destined to be an outsider.  This taping was held at Trinity Center for Urban Life, a non-denominational, non-religious organization that encourages the use of its space to enrich the educational, artistic, and cultural life of Philadelphia.
