"Teenie Harris" with Laurence Glasco

Laurence Glasco is an Associate Professor of History and Director of the Program for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in World Perspective at the University of Pittsburgh.  In this episode, Glasco presents on Pittsburgh Courier photographer Teenie Harris who documented the mind and mood of Pittsburgh’s black community — with a focus on images from the 1960s and 1970s.  This taping was held at Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, which is recognized as one of the first contemporary art museums in the country. It also houses the complete archive of Harris’ photography collection.
