"The Little Red Schoolhouse"
Professor, author and frequent op-ed contributor, Jonathan Zimmerman explores the history and ideology of the iconic "little red schoolhouse." Zimmerman is a Professor of Education and History at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. He also holds a position in the Department of History at NYU’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Zimmerman is the author of Small Wonder: The Little Red Schoolhouse in History and Memory.

This episode was taped at Shippensburg University's one-room schoolhouse, The Mount Jackson School. The schoolhouse was used until 1954 as a place to educate local children in Newburg from ages 5 to 21, and it was relocated to the University in 1969.
